1. What is a GPU Dedicated Server?
A GPU dedicated server is a physical server rented entirely to you, with one or more NVIDIA GPUs installed. Nothing is shared: the GPU, CPU cores, RAM and storage are yours alone, so performance stays consistent. RDPextra's GPU dedicated servers are Dell PowerEdge machines in our London (UK) data center with NVIDIA Tesla T4, A2, A10 or L4 GPUs (16-24 GB of GPU memory each, up to 4 GPUs per server), dual Intel Xeon CPUs, ECC RAM and full root/administrator access on Windows or Linux.

2. How much does a GPU dedicated server cost?
RDPextra's NVIDIA GPU dedicated servers start at $320/month for a single Tesla T4 or A2 (16 GB) server. Dual Tesla T4, single A10 (24 GB) and single L4 (24 GB) servers cost $410/month, a dual L4 server with 128 GB RAM and a 10 Gbps port costs $750/month, and the quad L4 server costs $1,020/month. Every plan includes 2 x 960 GB enterprise SSDs in hardware RAID 1, 100 TB of monthly bandwidth, one IPv4 address plus an IPv6 /64, and full root or administrator access. You can pay monthly, quarterly or semi-annually.

3. What can I use a GPU server for?
Typical uses include AI inference and other CUDA workloads, 3D rendering in tools such as Blender, video encoding and editing, game streaming and cloud gaming, game development and CAD applications. The NVIDIA GPU handles the parallel, graphics-heavy part of the job so the CPU is free for everything else. Pick the GPU by memory: 16 GB (Tesla T4, A2) or 24 GB (A10, L4).
-
4. How fast can I set up a GPU dedicated server?
After you order, the server is provisioned and you receive your login details. Lead time depends on the plan and current stock, so ask support for the current timing before you order. Once you have access, installing your OS drivers and software usually takes a few hours.
-
5. Is a GPU server better than a CPU server for gaming?
Yes. A GPU renders graphics and encodes video in hardware, which a CPU-only server cannot do at playable frame rates. That makes a GPU server the right choice for cloud gaming, game streaming, game development and any graphics-heavy workload. Our NVIDIA T4, A2, A10 and L4 GPUs all include NVENC hardware video encoding, so the server can run a game and stream it at the same time without loading the CPU. For demanding modern games, the 24 GB A10 and L4 plans are the strongest choice.
-
6. What operating systems can I install on a GPU server?
Windows or Linux is available on every plan. Tell support which operating system and version you need when you order. The NVIDIA data-center GPUs (Tesla T4, A2, A10 and L4) use NVIDIA drivers and the CUDA toolkit on both Windows and Linux.
-
7. How much bandwidth does a GPU server need for gaming?
GPU servers need at least 100 Mbps for gaming, and 1 Gbps is recommended for 4K cloud gaming, game streaming and downloading large game files. Typical cloud gaming bandwidth is 15-25 Mbps for 1080p at 60 FPS, 30-45 Mbps for 1440p at 60 FPS and 50-80 Mbps for 4K at 60 FPS, so several simultaneous 1080p streams need around 100-150 Mbps. Our GPU servers include a 1 Gbps port (10 Gbps on the Elite and Ultimate plans) and 100 TB of bandwidth per month.
-
8. Can I upgrade my GPU server later?
Yes. You can move to a larger plan at any time, for example from a single Tesla T4 (Starter) to a dual T4, A10 or L4 server, or to the dual and quad L4 plans with 128 GB RAM and a 10 Gbps port. Each plan is a separate physical server, so upgrading means moving to the new server; contact our support team and we will plan the move with you to keep downtime short. From then on you pay the new plan's monthly price, with no long-term contract.
-
9. What is the difference between shared and dedicated GPU servers?
A dedicated GPU server gives one customer 100% of the GPU, with consistent performance that is not affected by other users. Shared or virtual GPU plans split one GPU between several customers, so speed varies with their activity. On RDPextra's GPU dedicated servers every GPU is yours in full, for example all 16 GB of a Tesla T4 or all 24 GB of an L4, which matters for professional rendering, AI and machine learning training, cloud gaming with several users and game streaming. Dedicated GPU servers start at $320/month.
-
10. Do GPU servers come with DDoS protection?
Ask support which network protection options are available for your plan before you order. Whatever the plan, use strong passwords, keep the operating system updated and restrict remote access where you can.
-
11. Can I run multiple games on one GPU server?
Yes, as long as GPU memory, RAM and CPU cores allow it. With 16 GB (T4, A2) or 24 GB (A10, L4) of GPU memory and 64-128 GB of RAM, a single-GPU server can run several lighter games or one or two demanding modern titles at once. For several simultaneous players or streams, choose a multi-GPU plan so each game or user can have its own GPU: dual Tesla T4 ($410/month), dual L4 ($750/month) or quad L4 ($1,020/month). Each server has 960 GB of usable SSD storage (2 x 960 GB in RAID 1).
-
12. What GPU is best for cloud gaming servers?
For cloud gaming, the NVIDIA L4 (24 GB, Ada Lovelace) is our best option: it is the newest GPU we offer, with hardware AV1, H.264 and H.265 encoding for efficient streaming. It costs $410/month (Advanced plan), and dual and quad L4 servers are available for multiple players. The A10 (24 GB, $410/month) is also strong for demanding games, while the Tesla T4 and A2 (16 GB, from $320/month) suit lighter games, 1080p streaming and budget setups. Plan for roughly 4-6 GB of GPU memory per simultaneous 1080p stream.
-
13. How secure are GPU dedicated servers?
Each server is dedicated to one customer, so no other customer shares your hardware. Keep it secure by using strong unique passwords, keeping the operating system and drivers updated, restricting remote access and configuring a firewall. You are responsible for the software you install and for keeping your server patched.
-
14. Can I get a refund if the GPU server doesn't meet my needs?
Contact support before you order to ask about refund and cancellation terms for your plan, so you know exactly what applies. Plans are billed monthly, quarterly or semi-annually.
-
15. What support is included with GPU servers?
Support is available 24/7 via ticket, email or live chat. It can help with ordering, your first login, questions about plan specifications and general troubleshooting. For application-specific tuning, check your software documentation or ask support what they can assist with.
